Sustainability
Environmental stewardship through effective excess management
At the forefront of surplus inventory management, SVES recognizes the serious environmental impacts associated with excess stock. Left unaddressed, surplus items often end up in landfill or, in the worst-case scenario, incineration. These practices escalate environmental pollution and climate change.Through our unique operational model, SVES sees the potential to reduce environmental harm while also promoting a more sustainable retail sector. We employ a combination of operational excellence, distinguished industry experience, and our proprietary technology to redefine surplus inventory management. By pivoting from waste creation to waste prevention, we demonstrate to the industry that profitability and environmental stewardship can be achieved concurrently. Our ambitious environmental efforts have already yielded tangible results. Since 2018, SVES has successfully prevented the disposal of over 120 million garments. This achievement not only emphasizes the commercial potential of surplus items but also underlines our commitment to reducing waste and associated environmental harm.Furthermore, by preventing the disposal and possible incineration of these garments, we have also significantly reduced carbon emissions. As per industry benchmarks, the production of a single garment generates roughly 9.5 kg of CO2e. Based on this, we estimate that our initiatives have helped to save approximately 1.1 million metric tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalents. This usefully contributes to climate change mitigation efforts, demonstrating the significant role that efficient surplus inventory management can play in the larger environmental preservation picture. As SVES expands, our strategy for environmental conservation through effective inventory management continues to grow in potency. By helping brands minimize waste from surplus inventory, we play a substantial role in reducing their carbon footprints and fostering a sustainable operational model. SVES is a testament to the industry's potential to catalyze environmental preservation, proving that strategic surplus inventory management can translate into impressive commercial and ecological gains.
